The Purple Haze is a fairly new entry into the Adams variants and is gaining popularity very rapidly.  The purple body color is apparently quite the eye-catcher for hungry trout.  The Adams is always in my list of top 10 fly patterns to have in my fly box and this variant should not be overlooked.  It is the quintessential attractor dry fly pattern that imitates Mayflies, mosquitoes, midges and a variety of other insects that hungry trout will readily take off of the surface. When trout are feeding off the surface and you aren’t sure what to use, the Adams is a great place to start.
