The Pale Morning Dun is a popular Western states mayfly. The insects can be found on virtually every body of water in the Western U.S.. Even though the name would suggest differently, the Pale Morning Dun hatch can occur at all times during the day and in massive numbers which can trigger large feeding frenzies for fish. Having Mayfly patterns in your fly box of varying colors is a great strategy for being ready for the current hatch.
