The blue-winged olive is a great dry fly pattern that ends up in my Top 10 ‘must have’ flies when you leave home. A variety of sizes will provide good imitations for a variety of species of Mayflies. The parachute variety of a blue-winged olive is highly visible to the fisherman as it drifts on the surface. I recommend you always keep a few of these in your fly box.
