What more needs to be said about ants other than, “they’re everywhere”?  Fished near an undercut bank or reeds, a black ant is sure to bring a hungry fish to the surface.  This summertime favorite is easily fished with floating line and leader.  Cast to the bank, a tree, a branch or rock and imitate a clumsy ant that falls to the water’s surface enticing large fish to strike.
