The Royal Trude is truly a classic attractor pattern that has been catching fish for over 100 years. With its calf tail wing fibers it is configured to resemble stonefly, caddis and other down-wing insects.  This pattern is still a favorite with fishermen worldwide. As an attractor it is valuable as a searching pattern when hungry trout aren’t willing to give up what it is that’s making them rise. The Royal Trude often works when nothing else will.
